To edit or add the Sprite for a 2D entity go to the Sprite tab - this is accessed by selecting a 2D entity in the Level Editor or the Entity Editor.
Sprite | Click the thumbnail to select a sprite from the list. Add new sprites using the Sprite Editor. |
Rotation | Rotate the sprite by the set angle |
Scale | Resize the sprite vertically (Y) and horizontally (X) |
Flip X | Flip the sprite horizontally |
Flip Y | Flip the sprite vertically |
Billboard | Check for the sprite to always face the camera, uncheck for it to be fixed |
Visual Directions | It is possible to have different sprites for different directions (up to 40). Select a number or None for a single sprite |
Direction Method | Whether the direction sprite displayed should depend on the Velocity Direction (direction the entity is moving), Input Direction (controller input) or Rotation (angle of the entity) |
Visual Directions
It is possible to have different sprites for different directions (up to 40) by setting the Visual Directions number. The sprite used for the entity at any time will depend on the direction - this can be either the controller input direction, the direction the entity is moving or the rotation angle of the entity. Set the appropriate Direction Method to select this.
A circle with boxes for each sprite direction will be displayed. Click a box then select the appropriate sprite for that direction from the list displayed. The example below shows 8 directions:
