The ''Shoot 'em Up Kit'' includes a range of [[Create from a Template|game templates]] to use as a starting point for different styles of game.  The controls, [[Add a Camera|camera]] and [[Add a Player|player]] ship are already in place to make it easier to get started on a game.

The Vertical Scroller template is a 2D game with models in the style of games such as 1942 and Ikaruga.  [[Building the Vertical Shooter Template|See how we built this template here]].


The player can move up, down, left and right within an area at the bottom of the screen and always faces upwards. The player also can fire.


The player and camera move slowly upwards across the level.
